New Bracelets

I needed a break from Christmas stuff...so I got busy making a few bracelets.  The one above was created with The Ohio State University fans in mind.  The school colors are Scarlet & Gray.  Personally, I have absolutely no association with Ohio State, although I lived in Columbus for a couple years.  But I do know Buckeye fans are fiercely loyal & want lots of  Scarlet & Gray...it's everywhere, even here in NE Ohio.  I hope some Buckeye fan loves this bracelet.

On the other hand...I do love pearls, even if they are faux.  I've grown to like pink, too...who knew, but it does go great with black!  Hearts have always been a favorite motif of mine, so the pretty bracelet above is the result of combining some of my favorite things.

This is my last new bracelet.  I love these faux mother of pearl flowers & I embellished them with some cool flat back jewels from SkyBluePink...they are called The Queen's Jewels.  You'll need to page down a bit to see them on the link above.  These daisies hang from some vintage pearl chain & are so pretty for summer...or for when you just need a bit of summer on a gloomy day.

This bracelet hangs nicely from your wrist, too.  All of these new bracelets are available in my Etsy shop...KittenCreates.  It seems we've got some rainy days ahead...so I'll be adding more new items as I get them photographed.  I hope you'll take a look.  Many thanks!

Need some Angels?

These are a trip back through time to the 1980s...I made lots & lots of Christmas ornaments to sell & to give as gifts.  Recently I discovered the parts for these sweet little clothespin angels in my stash of supplies, so I've assembled some of them & they're waiting for new homes...find them in my Etsy shop...KittenCreates.

Do you sew?

I've discovered a stash of vintage Christmas patterns here in my Mom's stuff.  Most are from the 1970s-1980s.  We both sewed a lot then, but she mainly seemed to buy & save patterns.  I was quite guilty of that, too...you never knew when you might NEED that pattern, ya know?

Home decor, ornaments, stockings, tree skirts.  Over the years I gave many handcrafted Christmas items as gifts.  They were always a hit at bridal showers...to get the new couple started off with a nice collection for their first Christmas.

If you're thinking of sewing for Christmas, you might want to stop by my Etsy shop for some vintage patterns.  They are all unused & ready for you to get started...after all, Christmas is only 5 months away!  Get these & more at KittenCreates

I've also added more items to the Destash from my Studio category...rubber stamp images & other treasures...I'd love to have you stop by!

Christmas in July

Yep...it's getting closer to Christmas each day...and even though it can be tough to get into the holiday spirit when it's hot & humid outside, I've been working on Christmas treasures for my Etsy shop, KittenCreates.  I'm really hooked on the beaded icicles shown above...I'll be creating lots of them for our tree, too.

They're tough to photograph, but add lots of sparkle to the tree.

I'm making the altered matchbox gift boxes again...they're perfect for a special little gift...and are a creative way to give a gift of money, too.

Vintage Christmas Seals have such interesting images...and they fit perfectly on these little boxes.

Some are simply good for any winter gift giving occasion...like the Let it Snow guy above.

Some carry a message of Peace.

And, of course, there are Hanukkah gift boxes, too.

Cute little Christmas ornaments...these just clip onto the branches.

And handcrafted patchwork ornaments created with vintage calico.

I'll continue to add to my shop as the days count down to Christmas & Hanukkah...so please stop by if you're looking for a special little gift.  You can visit KittenCreates here.  Thanks for looking!

Luckily...we are not without a kitty

Even though we miss Sophie Cat, we were lucky that Miss Sunny Cat came into our lives last December.  She is so completely different from Sophie...but that's ok.  Sunny is her own kitty.  An individual.  And we love her dearly.  She LOVES to play...and get stoned on catnip...which Sophie had no interest in at all.  Cats are fascinating creatures...and we love them all.
Here's Sunny taking one of numerous naps...on the sofa...by her Daddy.  She loves the weekends when Phil is home.  No more putting up with me.  On the weekends, she's all about her Daddy.
And who could even try to resist these kitty footies?  Not me, that's for sure!  Thanks, Miss Sunny, for bringing joy & kitty love back into our lives.  You've only been here a little over 6 months, but it feels as if you've been here forever.  That's a GOOD thing!

One Year Ago...

It was one year ago that we lost our dear sweet Sophie Cat.
We miss her more than words can ever express.
